Is Weekday The New Diesel in the Making?

This post contains affiliate links. If you click on the links Pharaoh Diaries Magazine gets a commission. Weekday is a relatively underground fashion brand that’s part of the H&M Group, but they have stolen my heart in the last year and a half of knowing them. I came across them when I joined the Stylink influencer network and I was enamoured by their grungy, motor club, street style aesthetic. Their clothing is cutting edge yet affordable, great quality and sustainable – a Weekday piece is always going to stand out in any wardrobe. The Diesel comparison came to me whilst doing research for this article and for our Womenswear Latest promotion for the brand – their new season collection reminds me of the early Diesel aesthetic when they were much simpler – not the elevated, high fashion Diesel brand we see today. Weekday is certainly more paired down, a more rugged plain jane but on the right track for elevation in the future. Tempo Denim Biker Jeans £59 (Click to shop) The price

Fashion Regulation: Fashion Sustainability Law and Brand Sustainability Initiatives

Photo by Sam Lion Sustainability in fashion has become more prevalent all over the world. It promotes the concept that people and nature should coexist. Many fashion designers are joining the bandwagon to incorporate sustainability in their designs in an effort to support environmental changes and make a positive impact on the world.   New regulations have been proposed to impose more accountability on some of the largest fashion brands that generate more than $100 million in revenue. According to the Fashion Sustainability and Social Accountability Act, also known as the fashion sustainability law, these fashion retailers must disclose their supply chains and ensure sufficient due diligence, including taking action to minimize adverse impacts on human rights and the environment. If the bill is passed, New York would be the first state in the U.S. to enforce sustainability regulations in the fashion industry . These retailers would be required to keep track of every aspect o

History of Asian Rice Water Beauty Treatment

Photo by Shiny Diamond Water is an integral part of every living organism; it is also an indispensable natural resource. Every continent on Earth has a distinct water ecosystem, and each has its own beauty. Asia is home to many water sources, including lakes, rivers and even snow. Asian water therapy uses the region's rich supply of spa treatments to refresh the body and restore the skin. Ancient Chinese doctors used water from sacred wells for their patients. They believed the water had healing properties. The Han Dynasty doctor Sun Simiao studied water from Lake Chichibu in Japan. He found the water had extremely low mineral content. He concluded that drinking lake water helped people with poor digestive systems. The Chinese also used water from sacred springs for spiritual purposes. They would wash their bodies in the water to purify themselves. They also performed religious ceremonies in the water. The ceremony would invoke the gods to give them strength, while simultaneously

What is the Future of Virtual Fashion

Virtual fashion will be more realistic Over time, virtual fashion events are likely to become more technologically demanding and immersive. The future of fashion may have 3D avatar models (digital versions of real models) wearing digitally created clothes. Helsinki Fashion Week, which has long used digital fashion shows, is the first edition to try such technology. They will take advantage of 3D fashion shows, networking opportunities and interactive live broadcasts. The show will use avatars to display digitized clothing. According to the designer, 3D prototyping of clothes is a more sustainable alternative as it prevents mass production of clothes. Only after the client approves of the prototype is the garment made from scratch. These technologies are also changing the way fashion designers work. With VR, designers can create virtual prototypes of their designs and see how they will look on models before they are even created in real life. This helps to speed up the design process
