Taking care of your skin is very important, which is why you should use products that are beneficial for you. I've recently heard of this new concept called skin cycling. This novel idea was developed by Dr. Bowe with Bowe Beauty. She has a TikTok account, where she offers a wide variety of helpful skincare tips to improve the viability of your skin.
This article represents my personal story, as I've incorporated a variety of different skincare regimens. I've watched numerous videos about this new trend. However, all tips that I provide in this article are the results of my tried-and-true methods of starting my own skin cycling routine. Therefore, my findings include my personal experience with this method.
One of the main reasons to begin skin cycling is to prevent damage from products that contain harsh ingredients, environmental damage, and other factors that affect the texture and elasticity of the skin. It's all about applying a process of cycling and separating each routine into four to five night patterns. For example, you may want to exfoliate one night and apply retinol on a different night. This process often depends on how your skin interacts with different product ingredients.
With each night of my skin cycling routine, I've found that it's important to start with a cleanser that contains gentle ingredients. Harsh detergents in facial care products may be too abrasive and may cause an excessive amount of damage. Pat dry instead of rubbing your skin with a cloth. After this skin cycling step, apply either an exfoliating cream or another product that's formulated to provide a deep cleansing effect. Afterwards, moisturize the face and neck. Applying a hydrating cream or facial oil, in my opinion, is the most important step. When I started moisturizing my skin twice daily, I noticed a significant improvement, including more even-toned and clear skin.
What I've noticed is that being consistent with maintaining a weekly skincare routine delivers the best results. You can begin the skin cycling process with a few product steps, and then, overtime, incorporate additional methods that are designed to enhance your skin tone and texture.
